The artist often turned to the motives of the Russian province, the unique national originality of its colorful and many -sided life. Talented K. F. Yuon managed to look at the ancient Russian architecture and the unique nature of Russia in a special way, which conceal unlimited possibilities for picturesque colorful compositions. Especially often wrote the artist Trinity-Sergius Lavra, admiring the charm of her colors and forms.
This is one of the few surviving samples of Moscow white -stone architecture of the XIV -XV centuries, the largest male monastery of the Russian Orthodox Church with a centuries -old history. Trinity-Sergius Lavra is located in the center of the city of Sergiev Posad of the Moscow Region, on the Konchure River. The date of its foundation is considered to be the settlement of St. Sergius of Radonezh on the hill of Makovets, where to the present there are his sacred relics. The artist created a monumental canvas filled with a festive, joyful mood, the central place in which the cathedral occupies, to which carts with people and single parishioners are rushing.
