The artist is an exter

Alexandra Exist much earlier than many of her brothers in the Russian avant -garde joined the innovations of French and Italian painting. Having arrived in Paris for the first time in 1907, she got to know all the celebrities – with Guillaume Apolliner, Georges Marriage, Fernan Lege, Pablo Picasso and Ardeno Soffichi – and recognized cubism and futurism from the “first -hand”.

The impression of new French art was like an insight that suddenly came clarity. Only recognize the subordinate role of color in the cubstal picture, its only constructive functions, the exterior did not want and could not. Her cubism has always been color. And a lot in it was determined by the coloristic “mentality” of the artist, formed under the strong influence of the color element of Ukrainian folk painting. Even if the creativity of the external was influenced by the formal restrictions of French cubism and linear dynamism of futurism, its paintings testified to an exceptional sense of color and led to a new concept of painting as an independent study of color combinations, dissonance, spontaneous spatial rhythms.

Living in France and Italy for a long time, the exterior never broke with the “left” artists of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kyiv. Thanks to active participation in various exhibitions, she gained fame and became "his" Not only in Russian, but also in European art circles.

In still lifes, the external environment and the object exist completely separately from each other. The relations of these two elements are active and energetic. So in the “still life with eggs” (1914) on things adorning the festive Easter table, is approaching, surrounding, trying to subordinate them to itself, the world of painted planes, differently oriented. It feels like moving and expanding, this environment absorbs objective reality, distributing it in geometric blocks of planes. Exposited color perception is perhaps the main thing in cuboturistic painting extermin, and the artist’s gravity to folk sources, first of all, to Ukrainian fine folklore, is quite obvious.
