The artist is Larionov
Of great importance for Larionov was a 1906 trip to Paris at the invitation with. Diaghilev to participate in the autumn salon exhibition, during which he discovered French Fovism. But in the picture “Garden”, in addition to Fovism, another source of inspiration of Larionov is affecting – this is his native Tiraspol, where the artist necessarily came in the summer, from where he brought many new works. The generous colors of this provincial southern town are poured out onto the viewer in his canvases of the early 1910s, which belongs to „Garden”.
